# Calling setup

> Add your own number in one step, get a Fondaro number for your agency, choose who uses each number and switch calling on or off.

You call leads from your browser, and they see your own phone number. There is nothing to switch on: once your agency has a plan and its branding, each person adds their number and can start calling. Calls are recorded, transcribed and summarised for you.

Your own number is on **Settings › Me › Phone number**. Your agency's numbers are on **Settings › My agency › Calling** (admins).

## Add your phone number

1. Select the phone icon in the top bar and choose **Add your phone number** (or **Add your mobile** on **Settings › Me › Phone number**).
2. Check the number, with its country code.
3. Select **Call me to confirm**. Fondaro calls you and shows a six-digit code.
4. Answer the call and type the code on your phone's keypad when asked. The call is in English.
5. When you see "… is your number in Fondaro. Calls you make show it.", select **Done**.

The code is valid for ten minutes. If something goes wrong:

| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| **That didn't work.** | Select **Call me again**, or **Use a different number**. |
| **Calling is having trouble right now.** | Select **Try again**. |
| **… is already used by someone on your team.** | Each number belongs to one person. Use another, or ask an admin to share it with you. |
| **We can't call numbers in … yet.** | Use a number from another country. |

The first number in your agency gets calling ready for everyone. If the phone menu says **Ready in a moment**, it finishes on its own.

> **Note:** In Spain, calls to clients from a mobile number can be blocked. When you add a Spanish mobile, Fondaro offers **Get a Fondaro number** instead. You can still use your mobile.

## Get a Fondaro number

A Fondaro number is a number for your agency, in the country you choose, for calls in and out.

1. On **Settings › My agency › Calling**, select **Add a number**.
2. **Where**: pick the country (each shows its monthly price), the **Number type**, and whether it is for a **Business** or is **Personal**. **What you'll need** lists what that country asks for.
3. **About your agency**: check the details Fondaro filled in.
4. **Documents**, only if the country asks: PDF, JPG or PNG up to 5 MB each. Select **?** beside a document to see what is accepted.
5. Select **Submit**. Where no documents are needed, you pick your number straight away and select **Get this number**.

A request shows in **Your numbers** while it is on its way:

| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| **Not sent yet** | You started it. Select **Continue**. |
| **Waiting for documents** | We are checking them, usually within a day. |
| **Needs a change** | The reason is on the row. Select **Fix it**, change what is marked and submit again. |
| **Approved** | Your documents passed. |

In some countries, Spain among them today, numbers are given out by request rather than straight away. **Where** tells you when that is the case. Once your documents are approved, the row reads **Approved. Requesting your number** while we request yours, which takes longer than usual. We email you when it is ready, and it appears in **Your numbers** by itself.

## Choose who uses a number

Every number your team calls from is a row in **Your numbers**: an **Own number** or a **Fondaro number**. On a number's row, use the picker:

- **Everyone** shares it with the whole agency.
- Tick people to give it to them.
- Pick a [team](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/teams.md) to add everyone in it today.

The people a Fondaro number is given to are also the ones whose phone rings when someone calls it.

## Remove a number

Open the **⋮** menu on its row and choose **Remove number** (**Release number** for a Fondaro number), then confirm. A released number cannot be recovered. Your agency's **Main number** can't be removed. Team members can remove their own number from **Settings › Me › Phone number**.

## Switch calling on or off

The **Calling** card at the top of the page has one switch, **Calling is on**. While it is off, nobody in your agency can call and the phone menu says **Calling is switched off**.

## When you can't call

| You see | What it means |
|---|---|
| **Add your phone number** in the phone menu | You haven't added your number yet. |
| **Ready in a moment** | Your number is confirmed and calling is nearly ready. |
| **Calling is switched off** | An admin switched it off on the Calling page. |
| **Calling is paused** | We are checking unusual activity. It comes back on its own. |
| **Monthly calling cap reached** | Your agency reached its calling cap. An admin can raise it on [Billing](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/billing.md). |

## What calling costs

Call minutes and Fondaro numbers are billed as **Calling** usage, under the calling cap. See [Usage](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/usage.md). Developers can find the calling endpoints in the [Calling API](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/api/calling.md).
