# Tags

> Label leads your own way, filter by tags, and keep your agency's tag list tidy.

Tags are coloured labels you put on leads to sort them your own way: by campaign, by source, by priority, or anything else. Your agency has one list of tags. Admins manage it; everyone can tag leads and filter by tags.

## Tag a lead

1. Open the lead, or find it in a list.
2. Click **Tags** in the lead's **About** panel, or the tags on its row, or press `Y`.
3. Tick the tags you want, or untick to remove them.

A lead can carry any number of tags. Admins can also type a new name and choose to create it on the spot.

## Filter by tags

1. On any lead list, press **Filter**.
2. Pick **Tag**, then **has any of**, **has all of** or **has none of**.
3. Pick the tags.

Tags also power board columns, routing rules and Reports. See [Working your leads](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/crm/leads.md).

## Create a tag (admins)

1. Open **Settings › My agency › Tags** and press **New tag**.
2. Type a name (up to 64 characters) and pick a colour.
3. Optionally set **Visible to** (see below).
4. Press **Create tag**.

Names are unique, whatever the capitals.

## Rename or recolour a tag

Open the **⋮** menu on the tag's row and choose **Edit**. The change shows everywhere at once; your filters, views and rules keep working.

If an automation sends tags by name, update it after a rename, or it will create the old name again.

## Merge duplicate tags

1. Tick two or more tags, such as "VIP" and "vip client".
2. Press **Merge** in the bar at the bottom.
3. Pick the tag to keep, and confirm.

Every lead, rule and view that used the others moves to the one you kept. Merging cannot be undone.

## Archive or delete a tag

- **Archive** retires a tag without touching history. It leaves every picker, but stays on the leads that have it and keeps working in filters. Bring it back from **Archived** with **Unarchive**.
- **Delete** removes the tag from every lead, view and rule. The leads are untouched. This cannot be undone, so archive if you might need the history.

Both are in the row's **⋮** menu, or in the bar when you tick several. The **Leads** column shows how many leads carry each tag.

## Show a tag only to some people

Edit a tag and pick people or teams under **Visible to**. The tag then shows in the picker only for them (admins always see every tag). It still shows on every lead that has it, and in filters and Reports for everyone. It keeps pickers tidy; it is not a permission.

## Tags from an Inmobalia import

When you move from Inmobalia, you can bring over your contacts' tags and tag leads by where they came from. See [Import leads](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/crm/importing-leads.md).
