# Search

> One search for homes from the Fondaro network, your connected feeds and the property sites of your market.

Search is the one place to find a home, whoever lists it: your agency, another agency on Fondaro, a feed you connected or a property site in your market. Open **Properties** in the icon bar, then **Search**.

## Start a search

Search opens on **All searches**, the list of every search you have. Press **New search** (its arrow also holds **Start blank**, **Find by reference** and **Always start blank**; the **⋯** menu beside it holds **New collection** and **Manage saved searches**). A full-screen page opens and asks **How do you want to search?**

- **Describe it**: write what your buyer wants, in your own words, and press **Find homes**. We choose the sites and fill in the search for you, then show it to you to check.
- **Choose step by step**: you pick the sites, the place and the filters yourself, one question at a time.

Beside every question you see the homes your search finds right now, with the number on top, and it changes as you answer. Press **Back** to return to the last question; nothing you answered is lost. **Esc** or **×** closes the page and takes you back to where you were. Once you have started, it first asks **Leave this search?** with **Stay** and **Leave**.

### Describe it

Write what you want the way you would say it:

- "A 4 bed villa in Marbella with sea views, up to €3 million"
- "A flat to rent in Madrid with a terrace, up to €2,000 a month"
- "A townhouse near the beach in Estepona"

Tap one of the three examples to fill the box, then change it. Fondaro sets the place, the sites and the filters from your words and takes you to **Check**. If it cannot read your words, a line says so and your words stay: try other words, or choose step by step.

### Choose step by step

The questions come in this order, because the sites you pick decide which places, types and filters the later questions offer:

1. **Where should we look?** Pick the sites. The Fondaro network and your connected feeds start ticked. See [Choose where to look](#choose-where-to-look).
2. **Where are you looking?** Type a town, an area or a street and pick it from the list. Only places one of your sites can search are offered. A site that uses its own area names, such as Resales Online, asks you to **Choose the area** on that site when your place does not match its names.
3. **Buying or renting? What kind of home?** Choose **For sale** or **For rent**, then the kind of home. If a site you ticked has its own list of exact types, open **Exact types** under it. Each site searches the kind of home you chose as its own nearest type: a townhouse is a chalet on Idealista. A line tells you when a site has no type for what you chose, or takes one type at a time and you chose two kinds of home.
4. **Budget and bedrooms.** Set a price range and a minimum number of bedrooms, or leave them empty.
5. **Anything else?** Optional. Each filter your sites can use is a closed row with its value at the end; open one to set it, or press **Skip**.

### Check your search

**Check** lists every answer in a row, with **Change** beside it. **Change** takes you to that question, and the key at the foot reads **Back to check**. The sites come first, so you can see which ones were chosen. If a site you ticked cannot use something you set, a line under the rows says so, for example "Idealista doesn't filter by baths, so some of its homes may not match". Nothing you set is dropped without a word.

Press **Show N homes** to open the results.

### Find a home by its reference

Already have a reference, such as R12345 from Resales Online? Press the arrow beside **New search**, choose **Find by reference**, type it and press **Find**. The home opens beside the page you are on. A Resales Online reference (an R and numbers) or a Fondaro network reference (FDR- and letters or numbers) is recognised on its own; for any other reference you choose the site to look in. If no home has that reference, the box says so and keeps what you typed.

## Read the search

The results page says your search back in words as its title, for example "Villas for sale in Marbella · Up to €3m · 4+ bedrooms". Under it is one row of keys:

- **Change search** opens the same page again on **Check**, with your answers.
- **Type**, **Place**, **Budget**, **Bedrooms** and **Sites** each open a small panel over that part of the search. The title and the number of homes change as you do, with no Apply.
- **More filters** opens a panel beside the results with every other filter. See [The filters](#the-filters).
- On a lead's search, the lead's name; see [Connect a search to a lead](#connect-a-search-to-a-lead).

Beside the title are **List** or **Map**, **Sort** and the save key. The sidebar is for finding your way around: **Search** with your saved searches under it, **My listings**, **Brochures**, **Branding** and **Studio**.

To search just a place, type it in the **Place** panel and pick it from the list (up to five places). You can also type a whole sentence there and press Enter: it sets the place, the sites and the filters from your words.

## Choose where to look

**Sites** lists every site you can use, in one list that scrolls (a small box filters it by name when it is long). Tick a site to add it, untick to take it out; your filters stay.

- **Fondaro network** is first: your homes and those of other agencies on Fondaro.
- Next come the sites that cover your place, then **Your sites** (feeds your agency connected, such as Resales Online), then the property sites of your market. Sites in other countries are under **More countries**.
- A site that is not connected yet shows a **Connect** link. Admins can use it to connect the site.

At least one site stays on, and up to five can be searched together. When you have only a few searches left on a property site today, its row says how many.

> **Note:** A property site needs a place to search. When a site can't use your search, it shows **Not used** under Sites with the reason, and a button to bring it back: **Use** a place from your search that the site knows, **Choose a place** on that site, or **Remove the type** it can't filter by.

## Read the results

- **Sort** by **Recommended**, **Newest**, **Price low to high** or **Price high to low**. **Newest** shows each site's newest homes first; it is offered when every site you search can sort that way.
- **List** shows cards; **Map** shows pins beside them. See [Map and drawn areas](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/properties/map-search.md).
- More homes load as you scroll to the end of the results. **Load more**, at the foot, does the same.
- A home listed in another currency keeps its own price, with a converted one beside it.
- A new development shows its name above the price range, when it is ready or completes, and how many of its homes are still available ("11 of 32 available"), for example from Resales Online.

When something could not be searched, one plain line above the homes says so, for example "Idealista doesn't filter by baths, so some of its homes may not match". Nothing you set is dropped without a word.

When nothing matches, the page says why and offers a way on, such as **Clear filters** or **Search** the site that covers your place.

## The same home on several sites

When a home is listed on more than one site, you see one card with the logo of every site it is on. Press the logos to see each version: the site, the price, the photos and who listed it. **Open** shows that version, and **Use this one** makes it the one you see. We show the version with the most photos and information first, and your own listing always wins.

Inside a home, the **Same home on** row switches between versions, and the photos, price and description change with it. A brochure uses the version you are looking at, and the bar at the bottom says which sites your selected homes come from.

## Open a home

Click a card to open the home beside the results. `J` and `K` walk the cards, and `Enter` opens the home's full page.

The row at the top of the home holds its actions. Hover one to see its name:

| Action | What it does |
|--------|--------------|
| **Match leads** | Finds people in your CRM who have asked for a home like this, with the evidence. |
| **Make clips** | Opens the photos in [Studio](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/properties/studio.md). |
| **Brochure** | **New brochure** from this home, or **Add to a brochure**. |
| **Save to collection** | Keeps the home in a named collection. |
| **Open to agents** | Starts an [open house](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/properties/open-houses.md), on your own listings. |
| **...** | **Edit**, **Renew**, **Mark sold** on your own home; **Report listing** on another agency's. |

On a home from another agency, the agent's face and name sit under the price. Click them to see who they are, with **Message**.

### A new development

A new development opens with its name above the price. Its homes are listed one by one in a price list, with each home's type, beds, baths, built size and price, and whether it is available, reserved or sold. Click a column to sort. A column is left out when none of the homes has a value for it. Under the details you also see the payment terms (how much is due on contract, during construction and on completion) and **Key ready** when the keys can be handed over now. The completion date sits with the other details.

## Find homes for a lead

On a lead, press **Find homes**. The same page opens on **Check**, headed "Homes for" and the lead's first name, already filled in from what they told you: places, price, beds, type and features. Under each row a short line says where it came from: the enquiry, your call, the Growth area or the home they asked about.

Remove or change what is wrong, then press **Show N homes**. When Fondaro knows nothing about the lead yet, it opens on **Sites** so you can start from the first question. A lead that already has a search goes straight to its results.

To send them homes, tick the ones you want and press **Brochure for** with their name in the bar at the bottom. The brochure opens addressed to the lead.

## Connect a search to a lead

Any search can belong to a lead:

1. In the row of keys under the title, press **Connect a lead**.
2. Type a name, email or phone number and pick the lead.

Your filters do not change. The search now shows on the lead's page under **Searches**, with the lead's face on its row in **All searches**, brochures from it are addressed to the lead, and **Find homes** on that lead reopens it. To let it go, point at the lead's name and press **×**.

## Ask other agencies for a home

At the end of the results, or when nothing matches, press **Ask other agencies**. The request form opens filled in from your search. Post it and agencies on Fondaro can offer you a home. See [Buyer requests](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/network/working-together.md#ask-other-agencies-for-a-home).

When agents at other agencies are looking in your place, a line above the results says so ("2 agents are looking for homes here"). Press it to see what they want, with **Offer a home**.

## Keep homes in a collection

A collection is a named set of homes from any source, shared with the people you add.

1. On any home, press **Save to collection**. With homes ticked, the bar at the bottom has the same key.
2. Pick a collection, or **New collection** and name it.

Collections are listed under **Collections** in the sidebar, below **Search**, and in the **Collections** group on **All searches**. Press **Collections** itself to see only your collections. A row with others under it folds them with the small arrow after its name. They open like a search, with no filters. Inside one, the bar's **Remove from** key takes the ticked homes out of it. Its **⋯** menu holds **Rename**, **People**, **Copy link** and **Delete collection** (or **Leave collection**).

## The filters

In the takeover you set them as you answer the questions. On the results page, **Type**, **Budget** and **Bedrooms** are keys under the title and **More filters** holds the rest. The panel only shows filters your ticked sites can use, and a filter that only some of them can use sits under those sites' names ("Only on Resales Online"). **Clear filters** resets them and keeps your place.

| Filter | What it sets |
|--------|--------------|
| **For sale** or **For rent** | For sale is the default. |
| **Type** | Homes, land, commercial and more. Pick several. |
| **Detailed type** | Resales Online's own types, while you search it. |
| **Price** | A range. Type "500k", "€1.2m" or "500k to 750k". |
| **Beds**, **Baths** | A minimum, from 1+. |
| **New builds** | **Show**, **Only** or **Hide**. |
| **Reference** | One or more listing references. |
| **Built size**, **Plot size** | A range in m². |
| **Features** | Each site's own list (a pool, sea views, a garage). |
| **Build stage** | Zoddak's stage of construction. |
| **Whose homes** | On the Fondaro network: **All agencies**, **Partners**, **Agencies you follow** or **Yours**. |
| **Open house this week** | Homes with an open house in the next seven days. |
| **Keywords** | Words in the listing. `"La Quinta"` keeps words together, `villa -golf` leaves golf out, `penthouse OR duplex` finds either. |

> **Tip:** Fold the sidebar with `⌘B` (`Ctrl B`) to give the results the whole window. Your search stays.
