# Map and drawn areas

> See a search's homes on the map, and draw an area or a circle to search only inside it.

Every search can show its homes on a map, and you can draw the exact streets you care about when a town is too broad.

## Show a search on the map

In a search, press **Map** in the **List | Map** switch above the results. The homes appear as pins, with their cards in a column beside the map. The map opens on the place you chose.

- Pins group together as you zoom out and show the price as you zoom in.
- Hover a card to light its pin; select a pin to bring its card into view.
- Click a card, or select a pin and press **View details**, to open the home beside the results.
- Scrolling to the end of the column, or **Load more**, adds more pins. When there are more homes than the map shows, a note says so, for example "Showing 100 of 8,003 homes here. Zoom in or narrow the search."

## Search inside an area you draw

1. Switch to **Map**.
2. Pick a tool on the map:
   - **Draw an area**: click to add points, double-click to finish.
   - **Around a point**: click a point, then drag to set the distance.
3. Press **Search this area**. Nothing is searched until you do.

The drawn area becomes the search's place, shown as "Drawn area" on the **Place** key above the results, and it stays with the search when you save it. Remove it from the **Place** key, or with **Clear area** on the map. Picking a place replaces a drawn area.

After you move or zoom the map yourself, **Search this area** appears again: press it to search what you are looking at.

## Search a property site

The property sites of your market search an area, never a whole country. When one is ticked and you have no place yet, the page asks **Where are you looking?** with **Draw on the map**. Type a place or draw one, and each site is searched in its own place names.

A site that does not know your place, or cannot search a drawn shape, is skipped and the line above the results says so.

## Open a listing from its link

Someone sent you an Idealista listing? Paste its link into the command palette (`⌘K` or `Ctrl K`) and pick the listing. It opens beside what you are doing, where you can start a [brochure](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/properties/brochures.md) from it or add it to a collection.
