# Teams

> Group people into teams such as Sales or Rentals, assign a whole team in one pick and scope tags to a team.

A team is a named group of people, such as **Sales** or **Rentals**. Pick the team instead of ticking the same people one by one. Admins create and manage teams; everyone can pick one.

## Create a team

1. Open **Settings › My agency › Team** and scroll to **Teams**.
2. Select **New team**.
3. Give it a name (up to 80 characters) and pick a colour.
4. Under **Members**, pick the people in it (up to 50).
5. Select **Create team**.

Team names are unique in your agency.

## Assign a team

Wherever a picker offers teams, they are listed under **Teams**, above the people.

- **Pick a team** to add all its people. Each shows "via Sales".
- **Pick it again** to take them all off.
- **Untick one person** to take just them off.

You can pick a team on a lead's assignees, on **Add lead**, on Unassigned's **Assign to**, on a deal's assignees, on a document's members, on a phone number's **Who uses it**, in the Owner picker at the top of lists, and on a tag's **Visible to**.

A team is a shortcut, not a live link: Fondaro adds the people in the team at that moment. Someone who joins later does not get the team's earlier leads, and someone who leaves keeps theirs. The lead's activity says which team a change came through, for example "Ana assigned Ben and Cleo via Sales".

## Edit a team

Open the **⋮** menu on the team's row and choose **Edit** to rename it, change its colour or change who is in it. Removing someone from a team never removes them from their leads, deals or events.

When you add people, Fondaro asks **Also give them this team's current assignments?**

- **Add assignments** adds them to the leads, deals and events the team holds today. If there is more to do, select **Continue**.
- **Not now** leaves existing work as it is.

## Archive a team

Open the **⋮** menu and choose **Archive**; **Undo** brings it straight back. An archived team leaves every picker but keeps its members and its name. Find it under **Archived** and choose **Restore** from its menu. Teams are never deleted.

## Scope a tag to a team

On a tag's **Visible to**, pick a team. Unlike assignments, this is live: everyone in the team sees the tag, including people who join later. Admins see every tag. See [Tags](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/dashboard/crm/tags.md).

> **Tip:** Ask Fondaro can list your teams, so you can ask it to assign a lead to a team by name. Developers can use the [Teams API](https://www.fondaro.com/docs/api/teams.md).
