Calling
Use the power dialer to call through leads automatically, with call recording, transcription, and automatic post-call analysis.
Fondaro includes a built-in calling system with a power dialer, call recording, and AI transcription and analysis. Before you can make calls, your admin needs to complete Calling Setup.
Power Dialer
The power dialer automatically calls through a list of leads in sequence, saving you from manually dialing each one.
Starting a Power Dial Session
- Navigate to any pipeline stage (e.g., New leads).
- Click the Power Dial button in the toolbar. The button shows the number of dialable leads (leads with phone numbers).
- The dialer begins navigating to each lead and initiating calls automatically.
During a Session
When a power dial session is active, the system:
- Navigates to each lead's detail page automatically
- Initiates the call after a brief delay
- Shows the lead's name while connecting (e.g., "Ringing David Nelson...")
- After a call ends, waits a few seconds to check whether the call was answered
- If the call wasn't answered, starts a 5-second countdown before advancing to the next lead
- If the call was answered, pauses the countdown so you can review and take notes
Controls
While the power dialer is running, you have these controls:
- Skip: Skip the current lead and move to the next one immediately
- Pause: Pause the dialer to stay on the current lead without auto-advancing
- Resume: Continue the dialing session from where you paused
- Stop: End the power dial session entirely
The session ends automatically when you've cycled through all leads in the queue.
Making Individual Calls
You can also call a single lead from their detail page. If calling is enabled and the lead has a phone number, use the call controls on the lead detail page to place the call from your browser, or ask Autopilot to line one up for you. Every call is placed from your browser, so you are always the one connecting to the lead.
While a call is connecting, you'll see the lead's name in the call bar (e.g., "Connecting to David Nelson...") so you always know who you're about to speak with.
Audio Devices
Calls are placed from your browser, so Fondaro needs to know which microphone to listen to and which speaker or headset to play through. Click the phone icon in the call bar at the bottom of the screen to open your call settings.
- Output is where you hear ringing and the person you called.
- Microphone is what they hear. The meter underneath it moves as you speak, so you can confirm Fondaro is picking up the right microphone before you dial.
Test Sound
Next to Output, click the speaker icon to play the ringing tone for about two seconds through the device you currently have selected.
This plays the same tone through the same audio path a real call uses, so if you hear the test in your headset, ringing on a live call will reach you there too. It's worth a click whenever you plug in a new headset, and it's the first thing to try if you ever answer a call and realise you never heard it ring.
If you choose an output device that your browser won't let Fondaro use for calls, Fondaro stays on your previous device and tells you. This is deliberate: it keeps the ringing and the caller's voice on one device instead of splitting them across two, which is the usual reason ringing seems to vanish while the call itself sounds fine.
Call Quality
While you're on a call, Fondaro watches the connection. If it degrades, a Weak connection hint appears in the call bar next to the call timer, and it clears on its own once the connection recovers. Hover the hint for a reminder of what to check.
If you see it often, work through these in order:
- Bluetooth headsets are the most common cause. To carry your voice, a Bluetooth headset drops into a low-quality call mode that often sounds muffled and slightly delayed. A wired or USB headset, or the headset's own USB dongle, avoids this entirely.
- Wi-Fi: move closer to the router, or use a wired connection if you have one.
- VPN: a VPN routes your call audio through an extra hop, sometimes on another continent. Try switching it off for calls.
Automatic Post-Call Analysis
After any call ends, whether through the power dialer, an action plan, or a standalone call, Autopilot automatically kicks in. Within a few seconds of hanging up, it retrieves the call transcript and provides a full analysis with suggested next steps. You don't need to click anything; the analysis appears in the chat automatically.
Autopilot will suggest actions based on the conversation, such as changing the lead's status, adding notes, or scheduling a follow-up task.
Manual Transcription
If you want to revisit a past call's transcript, you can generate it manually at any time:
- Open the lead's detail page and find the call in the timeline.
- Click the Transcribe button.
- The transcription will appear shortly (it typically takes a few seconds).
What the Analysis Includes
Every call analysis, automatic or manual, covers:
- Summary: A brief overview of the conversation
- Sentiment: Whether the call was positive, neutral, or negative
- Lead interest level: High, medium, low, or none
- Key topics: Main subjects discussed
- Objections: Any concerns the lead raised
- Next steps: Recommended follow-up actions
- Coaching tips: Suggestions for improving your approach
- Suggested follow-up date: When to reach out next
Call Recordings
Calls are automatically recorded. You can play back recordings directly from the lead's timeline using the built-in audio player.
Phone Number Pricing
When purchasing a phone number during Calling Setup, pricing is shown in your organization's billing currency. If a country requires additional regulatory steps before pricing is available, you'll see "TBD" instead of a price. The number can still be purchased once those steps are completed.
Lead Assignment Routing
To route incoming leads to specific team members automatically, see Unassigned Leads.
